MySQL databases vs static websites

Most open source scripts use mySQL databases, but there are several disadvantages which we have observed over a period of time.
1.These websites take up a lot of server resources, CPU usage
2. Bandwidth used by these websites is more for the same number of visitors compared to static websites.
3. When there is a connectivity problem with the mySQL server, all the websites are inaccessible, and have to be reinstalled again at times. They are also more likely to be hacked.
4. At times, they are not properly indexed by search engines and do not rank well.
5. When advertising code(javascript) are used on these websites, it loads very slowly, resulting in a loss of page views and advertising revenue.
So despite having used a number of open source and paid website scripts for different applications, some are reverting to static html websites and focussing on website content.

Probably, the most disgusting aspects of working online are the talent acquisition techniques used by internet companies in India. A person who is hardworking, sincere, experienced and spending large amounts online will be subjected to continuous harassment and persecution which includes
1.Identity theft
2.Unwillingness to acknowledge a customer who has spent tens of thousands of dollars (don’t provide the mobile number to the customer)
3.Not willing to give credit for the work done by the business owner/staff
4.Encouraging and protecting hackers who make the life of webmasters difficult
5.Putting business owners under surveillance for several years
6.Encouraging and protecting blackmailers and extortionists.
7.Promoting frauds, backstabbers and bandwidth thieves

Instead of having the grace and decency to acknowledge merit and make a request for assistance or consultancy, the internet companies behave in such an unscrupulous behaviour , that they force investors/experienced webmasters to look elsewhere. They do not realise that for some people, ethics/company culture are more important than money or working with a “big” company.

Put the business owner under surveillance for many years for unknown reasons, the person has no privacy or human rights at all.

Defining quality

One of the biggest fallacies is related to quality of websites. The quality of any product is directly proportional to the price paid by the customer /end user. If the customer/end user is not even willing to pay enough to cover the cost of production/raw material , how can the supplier produce a high quality product? For example a customer cannot pay Rs 1000 and expect to buy a high end computer with all features, which will last for years. Why should the supplier or manufacturer supply by making a loss, does he or she run a non profit or charity?

For websites /blogs, the customer /end user is often the ad network whose advertisement/text links are placed on the blog. Some ad networks pay large amounts per click, others pay less than 0.04 cents per month. The website owner earns very little, just enough to cover the cost of web hosting /domain registration, yet is expected to spend time, money and have a good looking blog. If only high traffic websites should exist online, the domain registrant should be informed when he or she registers the first domain, not after spending thousands of dollars and many years of his or her life.

Do those who criticize the website quality pay or help the website owner in any way? No they do not. They are just trying to eliminate a possible competitor and unfortunately they have no empathy, ethics, decency or humanity.

A reseller registrar is often able to offer better bulk pricing.

The hypocrisy of online companies in India

This is the true life story of an online investor/webmaster in India who has spent $200,000 of her own hard earned money with different registrars, web hosting and ecommerce companies.
She is put under surveillance for years and her personal financial information is leaked to extortionists and blackmailers.
She is expected to form a company with relatives and wives of powerful people.
The wives and relatives have spent their money on gold, jewellery, vehicles and posh houses, almost nothing online.

Unfortunately in Indian internet industry, few are honest enough to acknowledge the merit and experience of a webmaster, they have no qualms taking credit for work they do not do.
